Favorite Places to Photograph-New England in October- Photographing the United States

As 2013 winds closer to an end we start to see many best of lists- and all kinds of recaps!
I start to think about my favorite places to Photograph and I must say New England continues to be on my list.. I know .. I know .. obviously.. I lead trips there but in considering it I continue to find it an incredible place to photograph!
Yes -it is true the trees turn everywhere-even here in Southern California but it;s more than the trees! New England offers a nostalgia that doesn’t quite exist in other places- more small towns, more country roads and a genuine effort to preserve a slice of the past!
Vermont is one of only 4 states that has banned billboards. Vermont and New Hampshire have more covered bridges per square mile than any other place in the world.
Though Vermont is very small- once the trees start turning it seems you can’t turn around fast enough to start photographing the small towns, white steepled churches, country stores, pumpkin fields, covered bridges and country lanes fast enough !
So if you have not visited New England in the fall to photograph you might want to consider it for 2014!
